Georgia State's Bio-Bus Program will be hosting a workshop for K-12 teachers as a part of a Science Education Partnership Award funded by the National Center for Research Resources and the National Institute of Health.
In this workshop I taught teachers about DNA, the parts of the cell and types of microbes. I also taught them how to use a microscope and lead them in a DNA extraction experiment using split peas.
I was featured in a panel discussion on race and the Church as a part of North Avenue Presbyterian Church's 59th Mission Conference with Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil, Amisho Lewis and Darryl Ford. You can listen to a recorded version of the panel here.
I was invited to speak at the 97th Foothills Presbytery Slated Meeting to talk about the importance of willing the good of others--even when we don't agree with them.

Bio-Bus has teamed up with the Latin American Association to host their Youth Leadership Conference!
I will be volunteering all day but I will also have the chance to do my first pilot of the module I have been developing for the Bio-Bus program on Waves and Sound.
Had an amazing opportunity to talk with K-12 students from across the country about Georgia State University's science programs as well as college in general. Students were extremely enthusiastic and were excited to become the scientists of the future.

Georgia State University's College of Arts and Sciences hosted a graduate student orientation for incoming Master's and PhD students. I was invited to participate in answering some prepared questions as well as some questions from the incoming students in the PhD student panel! It was an awesome to be able to share my experiences in graduate school as well as helpful advice that I wish I had known when I first entered.
Georgia State University's Bio-Bus program held a STEM teacher's workshop the first week of June 2015.
I was invited to develop and give a small lesson on the concepts of solutions and dilutions in the context of chemistry before they began making their solvent dilutions for their PCR experiment.
North Avenue Presbyterian Church held their annual Young Adult Retreat: "The Other Six Days."
I was invited to give a talk to my peers on creating community wherever you are regardless of the location or the people living around you at one of our night sessions.
